The start of 2025 has been a “healthy” one for the Interfuze Consulting team — both in energy and innovation.
As we continue to expand our capability in health and aged care technology, our team has been actively engaged across national conferences, digital health certifications, and interoperability initiatives to help clients transform care delivery through technology.
In March, Tim and Raj represented Interfuze at the 2025 HL7 Australia FHIR Connectathon & Trans-Tasman Symposium in Sydney. The event spotlighted cross-border progress in health and social care interoperability across Australia and New Zealand.
Beyond absorbing new ideas, Tim and Raj rolled up their sleeves to build a FHIR server using Microsoft Azure Health Data Services — connecting, testing, and refining with other developers and health data enthusiasts during the Connectathon.
We’re thrilled to congratulate our own Mat de Vene on achieving Certified Health Informatician Australasia (CHIA) status through the Australasian Institute of Digital Health. The CHIA credential recognises deep expertise in health informatics concepts and practical application — a key asset for delivering effective digital health solutions.
Also in March, our Managing Director Lindsey Duncan attended the Innovation Transforming Aged Care (ITAC) Conference 2025, held in Sydney. The event brought together leaders across aged care, community services, and retirement living to explore how technology is revolutionising the care experience for older Australians.
In May, we were proud to welcome Nicole Jahn, Alexander Liffers, and Ammar A. to the Interfuze fold — each bringing deep experience in healthcare interoperability and digital transformation. Internally, they’ve earned the nickname “Triple Threat” — not just for their credentials, but for their collaborative approach and real-world outcomes across the health sector.
This big question will be front and centre at the upcoming 2025 Australasian College of Health Service Management (ACHSM) WA One Day Conference on 27 May, where our Principal Consultant Nicole Jahn will lead a panel discussion on AI in healthcare.
She’ll be joined by a powerhouse lineup, including:
Our tech team has recently been exploring Azure Health Data Services, and we’re impressed by how seamlessly it enables cloud-based FHIR, DICOM, and MedTech data integration. In just a few clicks, clients can provision secure, scalable services — making interoperability easier and faster than ever before.
With embedded analytics and AI integration, the platform is opening new doors to innovation at the point of care.
Finally, our health-tech lead Nicole Jahn headed to Melbourne in May for the 2025 Digital Health Festival, where topics like FHIR, Sparked, and data interoperability took centre stage.
If you’re in Melbourne or attending the festival and want to talk digital health trends over a coffee — Nicole would love to connect!
Whether you're working with Azure Health Data Services, exploring FHIR in the cloud, or navigating the possibilities of AI in care — we’d love to hear from you.
